Our ident is created in Adobe Photoshop and animated using Adobe After Effects.
Matt: We used the ident to show that our distribution company is Vertigo

Matt: We used a tracking shot to establish Brown's surroundings and we edited in footsteps in time with Brown's feet as well as editing in background film and non-diegetic sound.
Matt: As Brown rests his hands on the window pane it conveys his anguish as he is about to face his ex-girlfriend for the first time in years.
Matt: As his ex-girlfriend opens the door, there is a shot reverse shot, showing both character's reactions to meeting.
Matt: As the ex-girlfriend exits the scene, non-diegetic music begins to play as he slams his hands on the door again, the title card also appears in time with the beat.
Tom: Reaction shot of Corporal Brown denotes his shock yet unwillingness to defend himself.Roland Barthes - semiotics and connotations. Army uniform denotes his time in active service. Tom: Wide Shot/Establishing shot of the train station signifies Corporal Brown leaving the service - further evident by him not wearing his beret.Tom: Close up of Corporal Brown depicts him lost in his own thoughts, with narration telling the story and giving the audience insight into his character.Tom: The use of filters connotes flashback and retrospect of the horrors that Corporal Brown faced in war. Tom: The High Angle Shot of Corporal Brown getting up to leave connotes a new sense of determination to try and return himself to his normal life.
